If you need to prevent cosmetic damage to the old showerhead, using a tire wrench since it is the best method. If a belt wrench is not available, you can use a cloth between the shower head connection nut and the pliers. This will help you to prevent scratches on the finish.

Step 2

Here is the second step. Clean the threads on your bathroom shower arm. In most cases, there may be a remainder of the sealing tape or mineral deposits on the arm that can be cleaned using the mild soap and water or an old toothbrush. Our research shows that a paper clip can be useful when removing old PTFE tape from threads.

Step 3

Just use about four-six wraps around these wires; turn tightly and slowly in a clockwise direction. Using your fingers, carefully press this tape into the wires.

Step 4

Some of these new shower heads come with the rubber ring, and you have to install it. If your new shower head is not supplied with the washing machine, you may skip this step. However, if it does come with the rubber ring, put it in your shower arm connection nut, then push it flat.

Step 5

Use your tire wrench to tighten the nut at a quarter turn. This is must be done keenly. Note that you are advised not to tighten too tightly. This can damage the threads. It can also tear the connecting nut of your shower head.

Step 6

This is very important as it will alert you whether your shower will work efficiently.  If there are some leakages from the joint, just switch off the water and try to tighten the nut again.

Reasons for installing a low-flow shower head

You need to enjoy a good shower every day of your life. With this, your body will feel more relaxed. A good shower will also increase the mood of your body. There are numerous reasons why you not only replace your item but also install a low-flow showerhead in your bathroom. Consider a lower output such as reducing environmental considerations, being cost-effective as well as obtaining options under the shower that you probably will not enjoy your current amenities.

Environmentally friendly
When choosing, make sure you make a good decision. The best-known aspect of switching to a showerhead with a low flow rate is that it is an environmentally conscious decision. This allows you to regularly carry out an activity that is known for wasting water and approaching it with more environmental responsibility.

Water conservation
To many people, this may seem like just an obvious advantage, but you may be surprised at how much water is being conserved. By switching to low-flow, you can save about 10,000 gallons of water per annum. In a family of about four, it means that nearly 60,000 gallons of water are saved each year.

Saves energy
If you use little water, less power/energy then you are assured of saving your money and bills. Let the saved energy go to heating of the reserves. This means less activity for your boiler and less electricity that keeps it running at a high level. This type of showerhead will deliver perfect services to your home. Because of less energy used, the use of electricity will therefore decrease. This is the reason you should purchase and install it.

Temperature and volume control
Having a temperature control means no more running water while trying to get it to that perfect spot. Instead, it keeps the stream a trickle while you wait for the water to warm up or try to balance the hot and cold to your favorite. You will also be able to regulate the amount of water being supplied hence saving energy and water.

Economical
Even if environmental conservation is not high on your priority list, saving money is probably the case. With a shower head with a low flow rate, you can save money in different ways. Your water bill will decrease significantly, with in some cases a reduction of almost half of the amount. If you are yearning to increase your initial investment, then you need to get additional options. With this, you can easily maximize your savings.

Your energy bill is another area where you can see a rapid change in the amount of money you have to keep in your wallet. If you use less water, you can make your boiler work a little less hard. It also costs less energy to reheat the tank when you can shower without depleting your reserves. These savings will be even more significant if you opt for the temperature control function so that your tank does not have to waste hot water, while you wait before finding the right temperature before boarding.

Do not let the fear of a less satisfying shower or initial costs cause you to make adjustments. Examine the available options and choose the low-flow showerhead that suits you, knowing that you have an ecological impact, as well as in your wallet.
